It was year 2008, although I have a full time 8 hour/day job, I was still looking for other means to earn aside from my regular income that would pay the bills. I was working in another country that did not allow foreign workers to take part time jobs outside my employer so I kept on looking for other ways to earn until I stumbled an opportunity being offered in the Internet and this is where my interest in Internet Marketing Business started.
I’ve heard many stories about people earning extra money online so I ventured forth and started looking for ways to make additional earnings from the Web either passively or not. I never knew too much about the Web way back then except of course visiting Yahoo.com and accessing their free email services. I have no idea about search engines and the website I often visit was again Yahoo.com.
So I searched ways to make money online using Yahoo; typing keywords in their search box to find websites that would answer my needs and finally I discovered Google AdSense. The idea was very simple, build a website, write something useful, place your AdSense Ads then get paid whenever someone visits your site and click the ads provided. Whoa, I could do that I told myself.
So I grabbed a Google Account, built my first website, wrote whatever my mind could conceive, slapped some AdSense Ads on my web pages and waited for the clicks to happen but unfortunately nothing happened. I waited but to no avail, no one came. No one was visiting my website and from then on I learned that earning in the Internet wasn’t that easy.
It took some time before I learned how to do things right if you will establish an Internet Marketing Business. After my first failure mentioned above, I discarded the idea of making money online so instead I searched for other ways and means. But whatever I do, I keep finding myself back in the virtual world. But this time with a lot more knowledge about the Internet, I discovered websites telling their stories and hardships before they achieved the place where they are right now.
So by the end of 2008 I decide again to try my luck in the Web and purchased several domain names and paid my own hosting account. I also bought a book about SEO and soon I learned a little about something in promoting and optimizing websites. I soon discovered that being an Internet Marketer is not that easy and promoting a website to be listed on the first page of search results particularly Google needs a lot of work. Although I established several site in 2009 I never earned anything except for a few cents that I got from using Google AdSense.
Soon enough to make the story short I discovered that the success of every Internet Marketing Business is traffic. You should be able to pull targeted visitors to your site; especially those that are interested with the given information you provide. It is very important to focus your site with a given topic, subject or niche, not only will your site be more focused, the people who will discover your site will be given the reason to come back for more updated information which you can give. Whatever the type of website you may have, whatever your products, services or information you may be offering, you need targeted traffic to earn and to be successful.
Then finally middle of this year still in my pursuit to make money online, I discovered several sites explaining how to acquire traffic legitimately in the Internet. Not only how to acquire traffic but they will also show you how to make money online step by step the right way. Although there are still varying disagreements from my own viewpoint as to their strategies and methods, as the saying goes pick up the things what you think is right, apply it and leave the rest. After applying the principles I learned in my Internet Marketing Business, my websites ranking improved and my earnings started to increase.
Although all the principles I applied were the same old principles I read and learned before, I guess it takes someone with authority and the experience to tell you how things are correctly done and instill in you the belief that you can do it and that the system works. You may have discovered this blog for some keywords I may or may not be targeting in the web; the main purpose of this blog is to document and share my experience to help others interested in putting up their Internet Marketing Business and be successful in making money online.
